Perambulation notebooks of state boundary lines, 1920-1930.

As part of its function to maintain boundary lines of the Commonwealth, the Department of Public Works (specifically, until 1927, its Division of Waterways and Public Lands) was required to perambulate state boundary lines every five years to insure that markers and monuments defining them were in place (GL 1921, c1, s4). Notebooks contain rough notes taken during perambulations in 1920 (1 v.), 1925 (1 v.), and 1930 (2 v.).
